Central fights against crimes with you.

By Craig Yeung

Various Bay Area news outlets have reported that there have been a spate of violent attacks this year along the San Francisco Muni T-Line have. In one of the attacks, the attackers were identified because there were security cameras around. Unfortunately in another attack, no one was identified because no cameras were present. This example illustrates how security cameras can play an important role in crime issues. Security camera systems not only help to catch criminal acts, but they help to deter criminal acts form occurring in the first place. Especially in this economic recession, aren't you longing for that peace of mind knowing your assets, property, and especially family are protected? Central Computers, the surveillance camera expert, is ready to help you.

With customer service as our top priority, Central Computers has built a strong reputation in the Bay Area. We have provided customers with professional surveillance camera installation at homes, apartments, restaurants, retail stores, warehouses, and even a Police facility. In addition to providing needed evidence to the Police and aiding in catching criminals, a well-installed surveillance system offers countless benefits that it will pay for itself quickly. It deters theft and vandalism, helps prevent losses, and may even gain you a discount on property insurance costs. A simple monitoring system installed at home lets you watch your children, elderly, or pets in real time. Through remote access, you can view what is happening at your home or your business even while you are away for a trip.

Our surveillance camera projects have been widely covered by the print and broadcast such as ABC Channel 7 News and KTSF Channel 26 program. At Central Computers, we can customize different camera packages to suit the budget and the need of every different customer. Cost of a basic single wireless camera is about $300 plus an installation fee of $200. Camera systems for businesses come at a wider selection starting from a basic system of 4 indoor/outdoor cameras, DVR, and monitor. Materials plus professional installation only cost around $2000, and there is no monthly fee. Don't wait until it's too late. Call Central Computers today and let our expert technicians assist you in selecting a system that will protect your home, your business, and your family.

Dell loses New York Lawsuit

By Mike Mruzik

By now if you pay attention to computer news, you might have heard Dell recently lost the lawsuit against it filed by New York State Attorney General Andrew Cuomo. The gist of the lawsuit could be found here.

While this can be encouraging news for many of Michael Dell's competitors, it is also a cautionary tale in computer service. Every businessman running a computer company is trying to balance the quality of their work, the service they provide, and the prices and practices they use in order to stay in business. It can be very daunting and certainly take a lot of work to engineer your company for the changes that come from success and rapid growth. You can easily slide down a slope of promising something you cannot deliver cheaply within your budget.

I will make no allusions; Dell is a large competitor of ours and has at times taken business we could have had. But this only re-enforces our work ethic to provide quality and service above and beyond what Dell provides. We are honest with our customers in this respect; we will work harder to stand by our industry standard products. Price is something we strive to compete with always, but service and reliability are just as important, and you cannot sacrifice service or quality for the sake of price without risking these problems.

The Asus Eee PC 900 8.9" is coming

By Kevin Brasher

Small. That's pretty much the main reaction when people see the new Asus Eee PC.  Now with an increased screen size of 8.9" and weighing only 2.18 lbs, this laptop can be carried in almost any bag, with minimum hassle. This laptop is made for almost any user, no matter how vast or limited their knowledge of computers is. Preloaded with Linux, the interface is very easy to use, and if that isn't your preference, have no fear!
The Eee PC can be purchased with Windows XP preloaded. The XP version will have 12 GB of hard drive space and the Linux will have a beefy 20 GB. Speaking of the hard drive, the Eee PC uses a solid-state drive instead of a traditional hard disk drive. This means the drive is able to take a lot more abuse from bumps and shakes, and keep on kicking.

Other great items that come with this laptop are;

  • WiFi 802.11 g/b
  • Multi Card reader
  • Built in Webcam

Pros:

  • Compact form factor allows device to fit almost anywhere
  • Very easy to use for any type of user
  • Available in Windows XP
